About you and this role Dow has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Data Engineer , based in Navi Mumbai (India) . This role will be a member of the Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHS&S) Information Technology team. As a Data Engineer specializing in EHS&S solutions, you will work with a cross-functional team whose objective is to deliver solutions that drive business value for Dow. The Data Engineer will focus on ingestion / persistence / curation of data as defined by specific EHS&S projects.
Responsibilities
Own the development and deployment of EHS&S solutions enabling data ingestion, storage, and consumption across Dow's enterprise data platforms (Azure based). Create data pipelines for EHS&S projects and projects in the Azure environment. Develop and deploy scalable and efficient data processing pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and other relevant technologies. Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support their data needs. Continuously monitor, test, and improve data architecture and performance, and identify opportunities for innovating with digital capabilities aiming to accelerate Dow’s digital transformation. Deployment of Azure services using Infrastructure as Code and Azure DevOps. Design, develop, test, and implement EHS&S analytic and reporting solutions. This includes the curation and ingestion of data from different source systems, driving end-to-end data flow for multiple solutions. Work across multiple initiatives in the Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability space.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Information Systems, related IT field, or EHS&S area. 5 + years of work experience. A minimum of 2 years of relevant data platform experience (data ingestion, pipeline orchestration). Advanced English Level Skills. Your Skills Strong knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes, data ingestion , and various data types like streaming data, structured, and unstructured data. Knowledge of and Experience with DevOps / MLOps, Infrastructure as Code (e.g. scripting, ADF), Pipelining (data and MLOps), data modeling and concepts of Data Architecture. Proficiency in SQL and experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Hive and has excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and strong communication and collaboration skills. Also has multi-application and cross-platform design experience. Proficient knowledge of various cloud services from Microsoft Azure and has general understanding of digital industry trends. Experience with Azure data services, Azure Data Factory, DataBricks, Python (other programming language) and has experience developing in the Azure environment. Ability to thrive in challenging situations and solve complex problems, manage own work effort in multiple projects with little supervision, is interested in emerging technologies with the ability to quickly learn and exploit cutting edge offerings to achieve business objectives.
