Our Troy, OH Wheel & Brake site has an opening for a seasoned Quality Engineer, capable of working as an individual contributor to achieve company and departmental objectives that significantly impact areas of responsibility. Experience managing Quality Assurance processes, procedures and/or projects as well as demonstrated experience and knowledge of how to influence individuals, implement processes and standards with the goal to continuously improve quality will be keys to success in this role. Responsible for implementing quality improvement projects, processes to ensure reduction in cost of poor quality and prevent escapes.
What You Will Do
Responsible for implementation and maintaining quality control systems, and protocols for materials being processed into partially finished or finished products. Working with product design and specification, devises testing plans, methods, and equipment to assure reliability of product Collaborates internally to ensure quality standards are in effect. Ensures that projects and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contracts. Identifies and manages risk in product development primarily utilizing and driving UPPAP core elements (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow, and Control Plans, etc.). Manages quality initiatives and drives their implementation for assigned products and manufacturing areas. Performs Escape management procedures, root cause analysis, and recommends corrective action for internally produced products & processes. Coordinate’s implementation of product engineering and process changes to satisfy QA issues raised by customers Leads implementation of solutions to complex and high-level nonconformities and to satisfy key quality issues raised by customers. Executes Quality Engineering strategy aimed at reducing nonconformities and ensuring quality standards are in effect. Leads implementation of test and inspection plans, methods and technologies to assure the reliability and conformance of products and processes. Effectively deploys continuous improvement tools ensure conformance to organization’s goal and initiatives and ensures timely completion Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field Experience/education with the interpretation of technical drawings, RCCA, containment plans, FAI, Pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, process mapping Must be a U.S. Citizen Qualifications We Prefer Experience in a Quality or Manufacturing environment (Automotive, Medical device, Machining) Experience in SAP or other ERP system What We Offer Some of our competitive benefits package includes: Medical, dental, and vision insurance
