About this role
A Day in the Life: As a Prep Cook, your day is centered around preparing ingredients and maintaining a steady flow of production in the kitchen. You’ll handle tasks like chopping, slicing, measuring, and assembling items so everything is ready for cooking and service. You may also assist customers with product questions or special orders, helping to ensure they have what they need for their meals.
Another part of the role is keeping the kitchen organized and ready throughout the day. You’ll maintain clean work areas, restock supplies, and ensure ingredients are prepared and available as needed. Between food preparation, stocking, and maintaining standards, the work stays steady making it a good fit for someone who enjoys hands‑on work and a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
What you bring to the table
Food Preparation Skills: Experience with chopping, slicing, measuring, and preparing ingredients Attention to Detail: Accuracy in following recipes, portioning, and ingredient preparation Organization & Time Management: Managing multiple prep tasks while maintaining workflow Food Safety Awareness: Knowledge of sanitation practices, handling procedures, and regulations Product Knowledge: Familiarity with ingredients, basic cooking preparation, and food handling Communication Skills: Clear communication when coordinating tasks and handling customer requests Equipment Use: Handling kitchen tools and equipment following safety guidelines Operational Awareness: Following kitchen procedures, food preparation standards, and company policies Adaptability: Comfort working with changing priorities and production needs Physical Capability: Comfort with standing for extended periods and performing repetitive kitchen tasks
Requirements
Prior food preparation, kitchen, or food service experience preferred Ability to follow recipes and written or verbal instructions Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices required Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely following training Availability to work varying shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays preferred
