Company: Qualcomm India Private Limited Job Area: Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Software Engineering General Summary: Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. We are seeking a highly motivated Engineer to join our Windows Performance Team , responsible for analysing, debugging, and optimising application and system performance on next-generation Windows-on-ARM platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with software, hardware, driver, architecture, and benchmark teams to identify performance bottlenecks, perform deep root-cause analysis, and drive optimisations across industry-standard workloads, applications, and operating system components.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse and optimise system and application performance on Windows-based ARM platforms. Investigate performance bottlenecks across OS, drivers, middleware, and applications using industry-standard profiling tools. Perform ETW trace analysis, CPU scheduling analysis, memory analysis, storage analysis, and power-performance investigations. Develop performance-focused tools, automation, and microbenchmarks to evaluate platform capabilities. Optimise industry-standard benchmarks and real-world workloads to improve platform competitiveness. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architecture, driver, power, thermal, and application engineering teams. Present technical findings, root-cause analysis, and optimisation recommendations to internal stakeholders and external partners when required. Leverage AI/GenAI-based tools and automation techniques to improve analysis efficiency and productivity.
Required Qualifications
B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline. Strong understanding of Operating System fundamentals , including: Process and Thread Scheduling Memory Management Synchronisation Mechanisms Interrupts, DPCs, and I/O Subsystems Good understanding of OS internals and device driver architecture Windows OS is plus. Strong knowledge of ARM architecture and instruction set (ARM ISA) desired Proficiency in C/C++ programming along with d ebugging skills with WinDbg, JTAG are preferred. Experience with debugging and performance profiling tools such as Windows performance analyzer, Vtune. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Windows kernel-mode or user-mode driver development. Knowledge of ARM Assembly programming . Experience developing microbenchmarks and workload characterisation tools. Hands-on experience with performance analysis tools such as: ETW PMU/Hardware Performance Counters Visual Studio Performance Tools Experience optimising industry-standard benchmarks, including: Geekbench Procyon / Procyon AI 3DMark Cinebench Browser and productivity benchmarks SPEC Familiarity with GenAI-assisted engineering workflows, automation frameworks, and data-driven performance analytics, scripting.
