About the role

We are currently looking for a Casualty Claims Adjuster II to join our team in Calgary or Edmonton, AB. Effective January 1, 2027, Alberta is transitioning to a new Care-First auto insurance system. This significant change will introduce a no-fault model, enhanced medical benefits, limitations on the right to sue following an accident, changes to the insurance rating system, and strict rate caps. During this transition, you will begin your role as a Casualty Claims Adjuster II , managing automobile bodily injury claims and supporting customers through complex and often stressful circumstances. You will be responsible for investigating claims, making evidence-based decisions, managing financial exposures, and delivering timely, fair outcomes. As part of your career development, you will receive additional training with the potential to transition to the Care First Team in late 2027 or early 2028 . In that role, you will continue to use your claims experience while applying a more health- and recovery-focused approach to supporting injured customers. This opportunity is well suited to an experienced casualty adjuster who is interested in developing expertise in accident benefits, medical terminology, eligibility and entitlement determinations, and customer-centered recovery outcomes. What you’ll do here As a Casualty Claims Adjuster II, you will: Investigate automobile bodily injury claims to support prompt, fair resolution. Use sound judgment to make independent decisions, assess risk, think critically, and prioritize effectively. Review and analyze medical records, police reports, expert reports, and other relevant documentation. Represent the company in negotiations and settlements with third parties, claimants, and/or legal counsel. Manage claims through the litigation process, where required. Maintain complete, accurate, and timely claim file documentation in accordance with company standards, policies, and guidelines.
