Opportunity The Executive and Leadership Communications Associate Director will lead two connected areas of responsibility: dedicated executive communications for the Global Vice Chair (GVC), and the broader leadership communications agenda across GDS. The role will translate leadership priorities into clear, authentic and audience-centric narratives that build alignment, trust and engagement. Reporting to the Head of Internal Communications, the role will serve as a senior communications adviser to the GVC and other senior leaders, while ensuring executive communications are integrated with the broader GDS internal communications strategy, editorial calendar and governance framework. This is a senior leadership role requiring strong executive counsel, narrative development, leadership platform management and the ability to manage sensitive, high-stakes communication in a complex global matrix. The role will lead a small team responsible for executive and leadership communications, providing strategic direction, allocating priorities and maintaining accountability for quality, consistency, measurement and impact. Own and execute the GVC executive communications strategy, narrative and annual roadmap, aligned with GDS business priorities and the overarching internal communications strategy. Serve as the dedicated communications adviser to the GVC, providing counsel on messaging, sequencing, stakeholder engagement, leadership visibility and organizational context. Translate complex business priorities, transformation agendas and leadership decisions into clear, credible and actionable communications for diverse employee audiences. Anticipate communication opportunities, risks and stakeholder concerns, and recommend proactive approaches that protect trust and strengthen leadership credibility. Lead communications for high-stakes, sensitive and time-critical matters, including organizational change, issues and crisis situations.
Broader leadership communications
Define and steward the broader GDS leadership communications framework, helping senior leaders communicate with a consistent enterprise narrative while retaining an authentic individual voice. Advise and support senior leaders across key internal platforms, including leadership meetings, employee webcasts, town halls, visits, announcements and transformation moments. Oversee the creation of executive-ready speeches, talking points, presentations, video scripts, briefing notes, Q&A documents, cascade materials and leadership correspondence. Shape communications for key business moments, including strategic announcements, transformation milestones, leadership visits and enterprise-wide events. Partner with editorial, channel, creative, events and production teams to deliver high-quality, audience-centric communication experiences. Maintain high standards of accuracy, tone, brand alignment, accessibility and cultural relevance across all
