We investigate next-generation telemetry, proactive maintenance, and specification enhancements to build a more resilient network for end users. A data science intern would accelerate this mission by building AI/ML models to analyze network telemetry, detect impairments, and predict customer-impacting issues before they occur. They would also develop a reusable evaluation platform to benchmark ML approaches across multiple reliability and edge compute use cases. AI/ML Platform Development — Design and build a reusable experimentation platform to evaluate ML models across multiple network reliability use cases. Telemetry Analysis — Analyze DOCSIS network telemetry data to identify patterns that predict customer-impacting issues before service degradation occurs. Model Development & Benchmarking — Build and compare ML models for anomaly detection, impairment identification, and customer experience impact classification. Data Visualization — Develop dashboards that translate network telemetry into actionable reliability KPIs for the team's DOCSIS experts. Edge AI Prototyping — Research and prototype AI-driven automation concepts for real-time, autonomous responses to network impairments at the edge. Documentation & Delivery — Document findings, present recommendations, and deliver a roadmap for production deployment of the most promising ML approaches.
