This position is for a Staff Tech Lab Assistant/Inspector who works under minimal supervision. Performs moderately complex hands on technical work on engineering products. Confers with Engineers and Technicians on details and specifications in order to build and modify a wide range of products. This is an onsite position based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
What You Will Do
Works under minimal supervision to provide technical build support to engineers and technicians on a variety of tasks. Performs moderately complex hands on technical tasks that contribute to the completion of engineering projects and products. Assists with the training and mentorship of lower level technicians/lab assistants. Works on circuit boards completing repairs, component insertion and replacement, and even inspection. Familiar with soldering techniques, both lead and lead-free. Builds cables and terminations for a wide variety of circuity types. Understands the engineering inspection and quality process and follows quality procedures. Reads prints, drawings, and schematics as needed to assist in the build process. Documents changes and inspection results as required for a wide variety of products. Uses hand tools, scopes, soldering stations, and other devices with skill and precision. Demonstrates successful soft skills - communication, attitude, leadership, and professionalism.
