O VERVIEW   Marathon Petroleum Company’s Illinois Refining Division in Robinson, IL is seeking a Process Design Engineer I I/III . This position’s primary function is to contribute to refinery/ organizational proc ess optim ization and proje ct deve lopmen t . Thi s inclu des identifying opportunities and develop ing projects to increase throughput, enha nce yields , i mprove reliability, and optimize energy or w ater use in process units. This position reports to the Process Optimization & Growth Manager.     Relocation is approved for this position.       K EY RESPONSIBILITIES   Contributes to refinery/organizational long-term strategy development and identifies opportunities to increase throughput, improve yields, increase reliability and optimize energy use in process units. Supports the development of process designs for new projects and unit modifications, including PFDs, P&IDs, and heat/material balances.   May perform process simulations and calculations to support equipment sizing, hydraulic analysis, and energy optimization as well as lead economic analysis and establish project rate of return.   Collaborates with project engineers, operations, and external vendors to ensure alignment of design with operational needs.   Prepares process design packages and support HAZOPs, LOPA studies, and other safety reviews.   Stays current with industry standards and best practices to ensure high-quality, cost-effective designs.

Minimum (Required) Qualifications:   Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering   Two ( 2 ) years of process engineering experience within refining or heavy industry   A valid driver’s license    Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future   Must be able to wear appropriate PPE in the refinery and be able to physically perform all tasks in the field   Preferred Qualifications:   Four ( 4) years of process engineering experience within refining or heavy industry   Two (2) plus years of project or process design experience     SKILLS   Microsoft Office applications, including Exc e l   Pet ros im or si mil ar process modell i ng such as MySep   KG Tower     PAY AND BENEFITS   Retirement: 401k with a company match up to 7%   Pension: Company funded pension plan up to 11%   Annual Bonus: Eligible for a company sponsored annual bonus   Paid Parental Leave   Educational Reimbursement   For full benefits details visit mympcbenefits.com    SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS   Options:   1. 𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗜𝗻-𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲: 5 days in the office per week, 8 hours per day.   2. 𝗛𝘆𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱 : 4 days in the office, 1 day work-from-home per week, 8 hours per day.   3. 𝟵/𝟴𝟬 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲: 9 hours Monday-Thursday in the office, with every other Friday off.
