Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. is the leading provider of custody, trading, technology and practice management solutions to registered independent advisory firms (RIAs). It provides access to sophisticated, digital wealth-management services that helps advisors attract and retain affluent clients, as well as profitably grow, compete and succeed in their business efforts.
In Advisor Services (AS) we have built our business on serving the needs of RIAs and advancing an industry that helps the advisor and their clients thrive. We understand their needs, and work side by side providing them the support to help them manage their firm and meet their goals. AS supports more than 16,000 independent advisory firms, representing over $5 trillion in client assets, and is a key contributor to Schwab’s overall growth in client assets and net new asset flows.
The RIA industry is at a strategic inflection point, with artificial intelligence rising to be a transformational tool in enabling advisors to scale operations, while also facilitating deeper and more personalized relationships with clients. The custodian who enables this transformation will emerge as a differentiated market-leader. The newly formed AS Artificial Intelligence and Partner Ecosystem organization will lead this charge on behalf of AS – defining how AS can both directly bring AI to life for advisors, but also how we power the broader fintech ecosystem serving RIAs. Role Overview We are seeking a high-leverage, senior individual contributor operating at director level with enterprise scope and executive visibility to join this team as our Director, AS AI Integration Standards.
In this role, you will define and lead the trust, governance, and standards framework for advisor-facing AI across Advisor Services—ensuring that every AI capability Schwab delivers meets the fiduciary, regulatory, and trust expectations that define our brand. You will shape how AI becomes a strategic differentiator for Schwab, translating enterprise risk and regulatory frameworks into actionable, advisor-specific standards that enable innovation at scale.
This role will operate at the center of a complex, federated operating model, partnering across product, technology, partner ecosystem, data, legal, risk, and compliance organizations to establish clear standards, evaluation practices, and governance mechanisms. You will influence and support decision-making across the AS AI portfolio, ensuring that AI investments and capabilities are aligned to Schwab’s trust posture and executed with appropriate controls.
You will define and continuously evolve the Advisor Services AI standards framework—including internal/external due diligence, communication standards, disclosure norms, and evaluation practices—and ensure these translate into measurable, scalable, and credible outcomes. This role will also inform Schwab’s perspective externally, contributing to industry dialogue and helping shape the emerging standards for AI in wealth advisory. What You’ll Do
Define and lead AI integration strategy and framework: Establish the standards, principles, and governance approach for advisor-facing AI across Advisor Services, translating enterprise risk, legal, and compliance frameworks into actionable, business-ready guidance Drive trust-centered governance across AI capabilities: Partner with product, data, and platform teams to ensure AI capabilities are designed, evaluated, and deployed in alignment with fiduciary
