As a Mission Operations Engineer – Level 2 or Level 3 located in Gilbert, AZ, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. The Mission Operations Development group is looking for a Mission Operations Engineer to join a growing team. This position is for a full-time technical and will support multiple programs in creating on orbit operational scripts This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Provide mission operations support to NGSS Satellite programs. Support script development effort based off of operational procedures Testing on orbit operational products using simulators and resolve discrepancies. Support the development and testing of: procedures, scripts, telemetry pages, and all other products Make modifications to existing operations procedures to incorporate lessons learned from in-flight performance. Develop new procedures as required. Support system development activities such as requirements management, architecture development, integration and test and formal program milestones. Work with systems engineers to develop operational documentation for use during on-orbit checkout and commissioning of satellites. Participate in mission readiness activities including mission rehearsals, mission timeline development, and post launch test development. Participate in on orbit anomaly resolution efforts. Provide status reporting through both the functional and program reporting branches. Provide additional support to multiple programs in the same product line. Maintain standards associated with the established Integrated/Developmental Operations functional group processes. Support internal and external customer meetings through proficient verbal and documented (MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel) communications. May require shift work and travel ~ 20% of the time for simulation/rehearsal and launch support. Basic Qualifications for Level 2: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 2 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 0 years of professional experience.
