Join our Team About this opportunity: Join Ericsson’s Patent Unit in Lund and help identify, protect, and maximize the value of Ericsson’s innovations and technology. In this role, you will work closely with inventors, engineers, R&D teams, and external partners to develop and manage high-quality patent assets aligned with business and technology strategies. You will be responsible for evaluating invention disclosures, preparing and prosecuting patent applications, supporting portfolio development, and contributing to licensing and patent-related activities. Particularly in the field of device research, e.g. cellular technology, mobile phone, tablets, accessories, IoT implementation, user interface What you will do: Identify, assess, and develop patentable inventions in collaboration with inventors and technical teams. Support inventions throughout the patent process, from initial evaluation and application drafting to approval and international filings. Prepare and manage patent applications through drafting, filing, examination and grant in cooperation with colleagues, inventors, law firms and patent offices worldwide. Make value-based decisions about patent filing and prosecution strategies based on business and technical value. Contribute to opposition, invalidation, and patent assertion activities. Provide support in licensing, negotiations, and patent-related legal matters. Contribute to patent portfolio management, opposition and validity-related matters, depending on your experience and interests. Improve patent processes, tools and working methods through projects and working groups. Lead or coordinate selected projects and support knowledge sharing and development within the team. Coach and mentor colleagues and supporting their development The skills you bring: A degree in engineering, physics, computer science, electrical engineering or a related technical field. Experience in patent work, such as qualification as a patent attorney, partial qualification, or experience as a patent examiner or patent engineer. Qualification as a European Patent Attorney is an advantage. An interest in technical, business and legal matters. Knowledge of cellular technology, mobile devices, IoT implementations, user interface or working in the telecommunications sector would beis an advantage. Strong analytical and attention-to-detail skills, with a practical approach to solving problems. The ability to manage several tasks, work independently and collaborate effectively across teams and countries. Clear communication skills and confidence working with engineers, legal professionals and external advisers. Experience leading projects, coordinating work or supporting team development is desirable. Experience mentoring, coaching or acting as a team lead is an advantage. Motivation to learn, improve processes and use new tools. Experience with AI-supported tools for patent prosecution and patent drafting is an advantage Proficiency in English.
