Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, which we’re calling SpinCo, until the name is unveiled. The spin is planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support SpinCo, which will focus on critical digital infrastructure, delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications. The “ Maintenance Automation Engineer ” will be based in Guadalajara, North Campus will be responsible to work with automated lines, giving maintenance and collaborating on automation-sustaining activities. What a Typical Day Looks Like Engage with customers and internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and drive technical solutions. Identify and implement opportunities to improve equipment efficiency, reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Establish and maintain equipment monitoring, data collection, quality assurance, and process control systems. Manage and support automation systems, including safety systems, motor controls, drives, industrial networks, PLCs, and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs). Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, uptime, and cost reduction. Support new equipment introduction, validation, qualification, and process deployment activities.

Troubleshoot equipment and manufacturing systems to identify root causes and isolate failure mechanisms. Implement effective and cost-efficient corrective actions to restore equipment performance. Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities according to established schedules. Execute equipment calibration, verification, qualification, and requalification activities. Support the installation, startup, commissioning, relocation, and decommissioning of manufacturing and test equipment. Develop, maintain, and improve maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, and technical documentation. Investigate equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Maintain accurate equipment logs, maintenance records, and downtime reports. Provide daily updates regarding equipment performance, availability, and reliability metrics. Set up, validate, and maintain laboratory and production test equipment used for product verification and calibration. Inspect, repair, replace, align, and calibrate mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic components. Support software and hardware maintenance activities for automated manufacturing and test systems. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production-impacting issues. Analyze and improve equipment KPIs, including MTTR, MTBF, OEE, and downtime trends. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Quality, Test Engineering, and Production.
