About this role
If you are excited about shaping the future of technology and driving significant business impact in financial services, we are looking for people just like you. Join our team and help us develop game-changing, high-quality solutions. As a Senior Lead Architect at JPMorganChase within Infrastructure Platforms - Data & Specialty Services (DSS), you are an integral part of an architecture team that develops high-quality architecture solutions for software applications, platforms, and technical products. You are responsible for executing and continuously improving DSS architecture governance processes, partnering with Principal Architects, architecture governance teams, engineers, and product teams to improve the quality, consistency, and traceability of architectural decisions. You will work in a diverse hybrid technology environment, using sound technical judgment to guide design decisions, improve reuse of strategic IP platforms and services, and ensure that solutions are secure, resilient, scalable, and operationally ready.
Job Responsibilities
Execute and continuously improve DSS architecture governance processes, including RFCs, ADRs, controls traceability, and auditable decision records; partner with other Principal Architects and architecture governance teams to mature these practices. Plan and run DSS architecture governance forums, including agenda and material preparation, attendance management, minutes, voting coordination, action-item tracking, decision follow-through, and stakeholder communications. Drive architecture decisions that influence product design, application functionality, technical operations, and engineering processes, balancing delivery speed, resiliency, security, operational stability, cost, maintainability, and strategic alignment. Develop and maintain architecture models, reusable patterns, reference implementations, and design guidance for platforms and technical products that make secure and compliant delivery easier for engineering teams. Apply enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to accelerate architecture analysis, impact assessment, and engineering practices, with human-in-the-loop validation, appropriate handling of sensitive data, and effective resiliency, security, and auditability controls. Provide technical architecture guidance to product, engineering, operations, security, risk, control, contractor, and vendor teams, helping them prepare well-reasoned decisions and high-quality architecture artefacts for governance. Remain hands-on in technical delivery, with proficiency in at least one programming language and CI/CD tooling; contribute to prototypes, automation, infrastructure definitions, and reusable patterns as needed. Contribute to the architecture and engineering community by mentoring and collaborating with technical colleagues, sharing knowledge and skills, and promoting reuse of architecture patterns, tooling, and solutions. Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills Formal training or certification on architecture concepts and 5+ years applied experience. Experience executing architecture governance processes, including RFCs, ADRs, controls traceability, architecture reviews, and auditable decision records. Ability to continuously improve architecture governance processes through practical standards, tooling, and automation. Experience applying enterprise-authorized agentic AI capabilities, including agentic skills and relevant context, to improve architecture governance workflows. Experience with enterprise, software, and infrastructure architecture across cloud, compute, network, platforms, and resiliency engineering. Expertise in architecture modeling for platforms and technical products. Experience making and documenting architecture decisions, including trade-offs across availability, performance, security, cost, maintainability, and regulatory or control requirements. Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no
