The Opportunity
Avantor is seeking an Operator at our NuSil site. This role will be a full-time position based in Carpinteria, CA. You will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with a diverse team in a phenomenal environment. NuSil is involved in healthcare, aerospace, and biotech industries. Experience
1-2 years of experience in packaging or distribution. Certification(s): None required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a chemical plant. Understanding/familiarity with cGMP and RCRA training. How you will thrive and create an impact Maintain equipment in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. Operate equipment safely and efficiently. Comply with company standards and OSHA requirements. Ensure the lines are set up and running per the production schedule in accordance with work orders. Understand line and pump configuration and be able to clean and inspect lines as well as perform line changeovers as needed. Perform prestart-up inspection on equipment and ensure that items that have failed checks are addressed. Maintain manufacturing areas clean and organized. Willing to multitask and be flexible. Keep accurate production records. Collaborate with Supervisors and Maintenance Personnel to resolve equipment setup and operations. Work with the QA Dept to understand, recognize, and rectify quality issues. Has the authority and responsibility to stop the line and notify QA of a contamination event. Ability to perform the duties of both a packaging operator and material handler. Manage hazardous and universal waste according to local, state, and federal regulations. Perform other duties as assigned with or without accommodation. Demonstrate mechanical ability. Critical decision-making skills, creativity, and multitasking ability.
