TrafficShift is the critical service that keeps AWS's global infrastructure resilient — enabling engineers to drain and restore traffic across thousands of network devices in seconds. We're looking for a Software Development Engineer to help us build the future of network availability at unprecedented scale. Key job responsibilities As an SDE II in TrafficShift, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining AWS's foundational networking service that enables rapid event mitigation and safe deployment of configuration updates across Amazon's global network infrastructure. -You will design and implement significant components and features that ensure network reliability, working within the Global Connectivity and Network Availability organization. -This role requires strong technical expertise in distributed systems and programming, as you'll be responsible for creating performant, stable, and maintainable solutions that scale across AWS's worldwide infrastructure. -You will collaborate with network engineers and various stakeholders, participate in architectural discussions, mentor junior team members, and contribute to operational excellence through code reviews, system optimization, and best practices implementation. -The ideal candidate should be able to make pragmatic technical decisions, balance customer requirements with team needs, and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills while maintaining AWS's high standards for reliability and performance.
