Program Summary The U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) sustains the Army’s mission to develop, acquire, field, and sustain ground combat, tactical, and support systems throughout their lifecycle. The program focuses on ensuring operational readiness, reliability, and safety of automotive and ground support equipment critical to Army operations. Under this contract, personnel provide maintenance, repair, overhaul, and sustainment support in accordance with Army technical manuals, safety standards, and performance requirements.

Job Summary

The Electronics Technician Maintenance II performs intermediate‑level electronic maintenance, advanced troubleshooting, repair, modification, and testing of TACOM‑managed systems and equipment. The technician applies a strong understanding of electronic theory and system integration to diagnose malfunctions, repair complex assemblies, and restore equipment to full operational capability. This position works with limited supervision, independently executes assigned tasks, and may provide technical guidance to junior technicians. This position is contingent upon award Roles and Responsibilities The Electronics Technician Maintenance II applies basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices. This technician works under immediate supervision and achieves technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician.

Basic Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; supplemental technical or vocational training preferred Candidates must have a journeyman license with a minimum of four year experience and a state license Typically 3-5 years of experience performing electronic maintenance and repair in an industrial, military, or technical environment Solid working knowledge of electronic theory, diagnostic techniques, and system-level troubleshooting Demonstrated experience reading and interpreting electronic schematics, drawings, and technical manuals Proficiency using electronic test instruments (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators) Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex electronic issues Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy Ability to work in a structured, compliance driven environment Ability to perform work in physically demanding environments Ability to obtain or maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (as required) U.S. citizenship required Preferred Qualifications Previous experience supporting DoD, Army, or TACOM maintenance programs Experience maintaining tactical, ground, combat, or equipment electronic systems Familiarity with Army maintenance systems, readiness reporting, and quality processes Previous experience mentoring junior technicians or serving as a technical lead Prior government contracting experience Additional Information This position will be a part of a physical work environment that requires standing, walking, and lifting. There is potential exposure to machinery, tools, fuels, oils, and outdoor conditions. Employees may also be required to work shifts, overtime, or weekend support based on mission needs.
