About this role
Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
Automated Test Development and Execution (30%) Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts for UI, API, and backend components of the ProdX platform, utilizing tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or REST-assured. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) to enable continuous testing, rapid feedback, and early defect detection. Implement the test automation pyramid strategy, balancing unit, service/API, and end-to-end (E2E) testing to maximize coverage and efficiency. Define and track automation metrics (e.g., code coverage, test pass rate, execution time) to drive improvement in test reliability and effectiveness. Test Strategy and Quality Assurance (25%) Establish and own the overall test strategy for ProdX software, covering the full SDLC from requirements analysis to release validation. Define quality assurance processes and standards, ensuring robust product performance and reliability across cloud, edge, and on-premise deployments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Product, Hardware) to review requirements and design documents, identifying testability issues early. Functional, Integration, and System Testing (20%) Execute manual and automated functional testing for ProdX features, including device data acquisition, real-time monitoring, analytics, and reporting modules. Perform integration testing to validate seamless interaction between software components and hardware interfaces (e.g., X-ray, checkweighers, metal detectors). Conduct system-level testing under various network conditions (online/offline scenarios) to ensure data integrity and system resilience. Compliance and Regulatory Testing (15%) Lead compliance testing efforts to meet global regulatory requirements, including FDA 21 CFR Part 11 (audit trails, electronic signatures, data integrity), GAMP 5, OIML, and ISO standards. Support EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) compliance testing, including verification of vulnerability handling processes, review of Software Bill of Materials (SBOM), and validation of security controls for the ProdX platform. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for regulatory audits and certification processes, providing necessary test evidence and documentation. Defect Management and Continuous Improvement (10%) Identify, document, and track software defects using defect management tools, ensuring timely resolution and regression testing. Analyze defect trends and root causes, driving continuous improvement initiatives in development and testing processes. Promote a culture of quality and accountability within the POPI R&D team, sharing best practices in test automation and quality engineering.
What You Need to Succeed

Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript) for test automation and utility scripting. Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) and version control systems (Git). Knowledge of software testing methodologies (Agile/Scrum, SAFe) and the full software development lifecycle (SDLC). Understanding of Industrial IoT (IIoT) and manufacturing environments is a plus. Knowledge of global regulatory standards (FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GAMP 5, OIML) and EU CRA requirements is highly preferred. Competencies: Decision-Making: Ability to prioritize testing efforts based on risk analysis and business impact.
