Position Summary
The Lead Electrical Technician is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation, maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and modification of electrical systems within a high-volume convention center, exhibition facility, and arena environment. This position plays a critical role in supporting trade shows, conventions, concerts, sporting events, corporate meetings, exhibits, and other large-scale events. The Lead Electrical Technician will coordinate and execute temporary and permanent electrical installations, including show power, exhibit hall power distribution, arena power, event power drops, lighting, emergency power systems, and electrical equipment retrofits. The ideal candidate is an experienced, hands-on electrical professional who can interpret and create electrical schematics, develop event power plans, troubleshoot complex systems, work effectively under tight event timelines, and lead or train other Engineering team members. The position requires exceptional attention to safety, detail, customer service, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing event requirements. This role pays an hourly rate of $28.00 - $30.00 Benefits for Full-Time roles: Health, Dental and Vision Insurance, 401(k) Savings Plan, 401(k) matching, and Paid Time Off (vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays) This position will remain open until November 13, 2026.
Responsibilities
Lead the planning, installation, modification, and removal of temporary electrical systems and show power for conventions, trade shows, concerts, sporting events, exhibits, and other venue events. Install and maintain electrical power distribution throughout exhibit halls, ballrooms, meeting spaces, loading areas, outdoor event areas, and arena facilities. Perform electrical power drops for exhibitors, vendors, production companies, concessionaires, event organizers, and other clients in accordance with approved event requirements. Review event requirements, floor plans, production specifications, and electrical load requirements to determine appropriate power distribution. Create, update, and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, power distribution plans, and event-specific electrical layouts. Develop practical electrical setup plans for events, including panel locations, temporary distribution, feeder routing, power drops, disconnects, and load requirements. Coordinate electrical installations with Engineering, Event Services, Production, Operations, Security, and outside contractors as necessary.
