Job Description
Your Team The Corporate Tax Team at Invesco is divided into Direct Tax and Indirect Tax compliance. The Direct Tax team handles various activities for North America (‘NA’) region that includes preparation of tax computation, corporate tax returns, tax accounting and reconciliations, conducting value-added analysis, and optimizing processes. This team works closely with the business, global tax teams, and external service providers to ensure efficient and accurate tax activities .
Your Role
As a Tax Analyst, you will play a key role in timely execution of various tasks related to NA tax function. This broadly includes regular tax compliance, and audit support. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external advisors to maintain high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory adherence. 1. Tax Compliance & Reporting Assist in the preparation of tax-related financial data and footnotes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards (e.g., ASC 740). Assist in collation of information required for preparation of US federal tax returns (Form 1120 and related schedules) and the state income tax returns for the Group companies. Review of corporate tax returns prepared by consultants in USA before filing them. Prepare accurate and timely corporate tax returns and direct tax reports in Canada jurisdiction. 2. Audit & Risk Management Provide support for internal and external tax audits that includes collation of information required for audit, addressing queries, and ensuring audit readiness. 3. Tax Planning & Advisory Collaborate with onshore tax teams to ensure compliance with local tax regulations. Support the development and implementation of tax planning strategies to optimize tax positions and minimize risks. 4. Research & Analysis Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations in Canada and evaluate the impacts to the business. Assist the team in researching and providing insights on tax implications for business operations and transactions. The Experience You Bring Experience: Minimum 2-3 years in a tax role, preferably with a Big-6 or within a GBS environment focused on NA tax compliance. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of USA, Canada tax regulations and international tax accounting principles. Proficiency in tax software (e.g., TRCS, ONESOURCE Corp Tax), data analytics tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI), and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle Cloud). Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective verbal and written communication. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Academic requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Finance, Accounting, or related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are added advantage.
