Our team approach utilizes specialists with social work, education and other areas of expertise to provide the best services to those in need. As a full-time Social Worker, you will provide assessment, guidance, emotional support, counseling, and resources to Long Islanders in need. Weekly individual LCSW supervision provided. To succeed as a Social Worker, you should have: A MSW and LMSW, or plans to secure the LMSW within 12 months of the hire date Experience with homelessness, trauma, domestic violence and/or substance abuse a plus Solid Internet experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs required Excellent interpersonal and communication skills coupled with solid time management and organization skills Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is required Your day-to-day responsibilities as the Social Worker will include: Regular contact with clients including onsite home visits, office meetings, and other methods. Provide clinically therapeutic assessments, insight, feedback, and interventions in areas of concern. Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, counseling and support to adults and children within a permanent supportive housing program for previously homeless domestic violence survivors Case management duties include client follow-ups, coordinating care with other service providers. Advocate for all family members in areas of social services, education, and more. Maintaining a regular caseload, assist clients in setting and tracking short-term and long-term goals towards independence, providing motivation, encouragement, and empowerment. Investigate resources for programs as needed and refer clients to appropriate organizations, maintaining a high level of knowledge of community resources for the population served Maintain strict documentation of all client contact, including monthly reviews of goals and progress, updating statistics, utilizing required agency forms, systems and procedures. Coordinate services within a multi-disciplinary team, participate in sessions with incoming
