A Career that Empowers You to Build Your Future Sr Legal Counsel is an experienced attorney responsible for independently managing complex legal matters and advising internal stakeholders on strategic risks and opportunities. This role leads high‑impact work, drafts and negotiates advanced agreements, and mentors junior attorneys while contributing to practice improvements. Your Responsibilities on the Team Independently manage complex litigation, transactional, regulatory, or advisory matters, assuming end‑to‑end responsibility for strategy, execution, and outcomes within established legal frameworks and escalation guidelines. Draft, review, and negotiate complex and high‑impact agreements and legal documents, exercising sound judgment to appropriately balance legal risk, business objectives, and regulatory requirements. Provide strategic, solution‑oriented legal advice to internal clients, translating legal analysis into clear, practical guidance that enables informed decision‑making and effective business execution. Conduct advanced legal research, issue‑spotting, and risk analysis on novel or sophisticated matters, identifying implications, options, and recommendations aligned with organizational priorities. Serve as a subject‑matter resource within the practice area, contributing to the resolution of complex issues, sharing expertise, and supporting consistency in legal approach and outcomes. Mentor and support junior attorneys and paralegals, providing guidance on complex matters, reinforcing best practices, and contributing to skill development and quality of work product. Partner with cross‑functional partners and outside counsel as needed to manage matters efficiently, ensure alignment, and support timely and defensible results. Contribute to continuous improvement of legal processes, templates, and knowledge assets, supporting efficiency, quality, and risk management across the practice area. Your Toolbox Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school; licensed to practice law in the U.S. 5-10 years of legal experience, with a strong background in real estate, construction, corporate governance, compliance, or commercial transactions. Experience as a General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, or senior in-house counsel at a publicly traded company. Strong leadership skills with experience managing legal teams and external counsel. Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels, balancing legal risk with business growth. Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements: This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the incumbent to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop , reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs.
