The Opportunity
We have an outstanding opportunity for a Sr. Data Protection Engineer in our Commvault Managed Services team. The Engineer will interact directly with customers and customer environments to provide day-to-day operational management of our customer’s Commvault solution. The ideal candidate will have experience within the areas of troubleshooting the infrastructure and product issues.
What you’ll do…
• Successfully interact through phone and email with customers as you solve their problems
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex customer issues
• Install and configure Commvault hardware and software following the design specifications provided to meet the customer’s technical and business requirements.
• Onboarding new accounts in partnership with our Data Protection Specialist or Professional Services team
• Perform data migration tasks to transition the customer from the previous backup infrastructure to the new infrastructure.
• Install and configure backup agents to protect the customers applications, databases, and hypervisors.
• Work with the customer and Commvault technical support and/or development to troubleshoot any technical issues blocking progress.
• Maintain case ownership and keep customers informed of progress on their issues by contacting them periodically with updates.
• Consistently meet/exceed customer account needs; identify opportunities to enhance delivery of company service and support goals.
• Architect Commvault software solutions to address customer needs. Suggest these solutions to the customer proactively to continuously expand and improve customer deployment of Commvault.
• Develop requirements and design for Commvault software modifications and enhancements. Actively work with developers to implement and test these enhancements.
• Develop subject matter expertise of assigned client/partners product lines, equipment APRs, SOPs, Bugs, and applicable fixes.
• Work independently with a focused direction while adding value and contributing to overall team performance.
• Maintain an on-going awareness of the Customer base and ensure delivery against contractual obligations.
• Continually pursue on-going training and development opportunities to advance skill sets and, in turn, ability to effectively deliver to Customers.
