Production Specialist

Location: Glenrothes, Fife

 Position Role Type: Onsite Raytheon UK has a new opportunities for a Production Specialist to join our team in Glenrothes. As a Production Specialist, you will support the Production Team Leaders to support the teams of Production Associates working at our Raytheon UK Manufacturing site. The team produce high quality electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies, achieving output, quality, and safety targets. The Production Specialist may be the Lead Associate for all production work in the Manufacturing area on that shift, and would be the focal point for production, quality, and personnel queries. This will be a dayshift opportunity (Mon-Wed 7.30am - 5.18pm and Thurs 7.30pm to 5.06pm) and you must be eligible and willing to gain BPSS clearance.

This role includes hands-on building and / or testing as well as co-ordinating and expediting tasks. Assisting the Team Leader with leadership duties, tasks could include: Coordinating daily production activities, chair shift start-up meetings, and ensure effective shift handovers.  Monitor production metrics, equipment downtime, WIP, material availability, and inventory accuracy to support operational efficiency and target achievement. Allocate resources and manage workflow to meet production schedules in a fast-paced, changing environment.  Drive continuous improvement initiatives and work closely with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Materials teams to resolve issues and improve performance.  Ensure compliance with work instructions, standard operating procedures, and quality requirements.  Own and promote Health & Safety and 5S standards across the production area.  Required Skills & Experience: Previous relevant experience e.g. from a Factory, Engineering or Manufacturing environment IT literate – Microsoft Office skills e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, MS Teams Desirable Skills & Experience: SVQ Level 3 in Operational Management or equivalent Electronics / electro-mechanical production experience Good organisational and communication skills A disciplined and determined approach Experience in using SAP / shop floor control systems Benefits and Work Culture 37hr working week 25 days holiday + statutory public holidays, plus opportunity to buy, sell and roll over up to 5 days and up to 5 paid days volunteering 10.5% company pension contribution with 6% employee contribution Annual company bonus scheme (discretionary) 6 times salary Life Assurance with pension Flexible Benefits scheme with extensive salary sacrifice schemes, including Health Cashplan, Dental, and Cycle to Work, amongst others Enhanced sick pay Enhanced family friendly policies including enhanced maternity, paternity & shared parental leave Canteen on Glenrothes site Raytheon UK We take immense pride in being a leader in defence and aerospace technology.
