Job Description Harvard Medical School IT is seeking a Lead AV Technical Specialist of Simulation and Clinical Skills to support the delivery of high-quality clinical education experiences within the Clinical Skills Center (CSC). This role plays a critical part in enabling the successful execution of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) and other clinical learning activities by ensuring the reliability, usability, and effectiveness of simulation and audiovisual technologies. The Lead Technical Specialist will serve as a primary technical resource for the SimulationIQ (SimIQ) platform and associated AV systems, supporting students, faculty, and standardized patients during both live and simulated clinical encounters. This individual will combine hands-on technical expertise with a strong user-centered approach, providing real-time operational support, managing system configurations, and maintaining high standards for video capture, playback, and data integrity. Reporting to the Manager of Simulation and Clinical Skills Technologies, this position collaborates closely with IT teams and academic stakeholders to support system enhancements, training initiatives, and continuous improvement of clinical education technologies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in fast-paced environments, and is committed to delivering reliable, accessible, and high-impact technology experiences. Core Duties: Manage the SimulationIQ (SimIQ) application, including user provisioning, role administration, system configuration, and coordination of updates and enhancements. Provide technical support for simulation and clinical education technologies, troubleshooting application, access, and audiovisual issues for faculty, students, and staff. Support and operate control room technologies during OSCEs and other clinical activities, ensuring reliable audio, video, recording, and communication systems. Ensure technical readiness of all simulation and AV systems through routine testing, preventative maintenance, and coordination with IT teams and vendors. Manage video recording, storage, and quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and integrity of clinical education content. Develop and maintain user documentation, knowledge base materials, and training resources to support effective use of supported technologies. Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver user training and guidance, promoting adoption and consistent use of simulation and instructional technologies. Monitor system performance and support continuous improvement efforts by identifying trends, documenting issues, and recommending enhancements. Working Conditions: Classroom/Instruction setting.
