Position
Summary The purpose of a MA Preceptors at Oak Street Health is to serve as a dedicated preceptor for new hires and support skill building for established Oakies. MA Preceptors provide local training for onboarding, new company-wide or regional implementations, and remediation for skills and competencies. Additionally, MA Preceptors provide float coverage during which they collect all necessary medical information regarding our patients to ensure providers have the most accurate information available when making healthcare decisions. MA Preceptors report to the regional Director of Clinical Support. They are a vital element of our model and important members of our Care Teams. Being a MA Preceptor at Street Health requires high levels of flexibility, energy, attention to detail, mastery of role, skill in training, and problem solving skills. You will be expected to build relationships with Oak Street Health members throughout their new hire or current Oaky journey. MA Preceptors will collaborate closely with Directors of Clinical Support and center-level leaders to meet identified needs for precepting throughout the region(s) in which they cover. As a MA Preceptor, you will develop strong working relationships with team members identified for precepting and support their skill mastery and core competencies required for job proficiency. The MA Preceptor will also assist in the assessment of patients’ health conditions, through screenings and routine diagnostic testing performed during appointments when providing float coverage during non-precepting hours.
Required Qualifications
State or national certification (as required by state), or graduation from an accredited medical assistant course 1 year experience as a medical assistant at Oak Street Health CPR or BLS Certification Electronic Medical Record experience Computer skills: Ability to quickly navigate and use multiple computer programs to include, but not limited to: Gmail, MS Word or Google Docs, Excel or Google Sheets, etc. Proficiency in non-English languages as required by the center's demographics. US work authorization Candidate must be willing to travel to all centers regionally to support precepting and have access to a reliable form of transportation Strongly Preferred Qualifications: 3 years of experience as a medical assistant Successful mastery of the workflow in their previous MA II position Commitment and passion for training and continuing education An appetite for expanded responsibilities, greater clinical experience, and a chance to truly make an impact in the growth and development of their Oaky teammates Preferred Qualifications: 2 or more years of experience working with geriatric patients Phlebotomy Technician Certification Other Skills: Problem-solving skills, professional accountability, and a flexible, positive attitude Strong communication skills and customer service orientation Someone who embodies being “Oaky” Education High School Diploma or GED MA Certification or Diploma Anticipated Weekly Hours 40 Time Type Full time Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $18.50 - $31.72 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
