 Summary: Presbyterian is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Oncology team.  Responsibilities: *Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken and patient responses. *May cover other areas of clinic based on need, triage, Mini Infusion, Main infusion *May cover for our Kaseman location or Rust location either by direct patient care or indirect via telephone triage. *Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient/family and healthcare team. *Provides supportive care and education to patients and their families, to include referrals and bereavement counseling. *Initiates, utilizes and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care. *Administers chemotherapy medication and other oncology treatments as prescribed by physician, or standard protocols and documents according to policy. *Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout episode of care. *Evaluates patient progression toward outcomes per unit standards and documents through EOSS etc. *Delegates or assigns aspects of patient care to healthcare team members commensurate with their validated competency or licensure to perform the task. *Completes patient population/age-specific/procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards. *Assists in orientation and training of new staff or students and serve as a resource person and professional role model. *Assumes professional responsibility for current nursing structure and clinical standards of care. *Incorporates PHS mission (VVPS) in care-giving activities.   Qualifications: *Associates degree from accredited academic nursing program preferred, with expectation of BSN completion within 5 years of hire. Education agreement contract to be signed upon hire. *BSN degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program preferred *State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License *2 years medical surgical or ICU nursing experience preferred, *Experience in Oncology or Infusion centers preferred. *Must maintain chemotherapy/biotherapy/immunotherapy provider certification during employment in Oncology department. *Chemotherapy/Biotherapy/Immunotherapy provider certification required within 1 month of hire *National Oncology Certification required to be obtained within 2-3 years of hire. *Maintain educational requirements as per standards related to national oncology accreditations upheld by Cancer Care Services.
