Sr. Java/GCP Developer

Description Summary:  Sr Java Developer with Spring boot framework experience, Cloud skills and AI skills Position. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer with expertise in Java, Spring Boot, GCP, Kafka, Cloud Architecture, Bigtable, REST APIs , and DevOps to design, develop, and support scalable cloud-native applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience building microservices, event-driven solutions, and distributed systems in a cloud environment. Knowledge of Digital Assets and Tokenization platforms is a plus . Deliver well-designed, quality software in either an agile or waterfall environment Work on a team to ensure successful delivery of solutions that add value to Huntington's colleagues and customers as-well-as achieve business objectives. Understand business requirements. Communicate clearly with business and technology stakeholders to develop a proposed solution. Be the primary technical team owner of projects and project technical deliverables.

Develop, and maintain cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, GCP, and Kafka. Build and support scalable REST APIs. Develop event-driven solutions leveraging Kafka and cloud-native messaging patterns. Design data models and optimize performance using Bigtable and related cloud databases. Understand and work with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices. Collaborate with architecture, infrastructure, security, and product teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions. Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical mentoring activities. Maintains and demonstrates knowledge of technical industry trends, particularly as they apply to Huntington. Performs other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business or other related field/experience 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java application development.   Top Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Java 8/11/17/21 and Spring Boot Framework . Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot Framework for building scalable microservices, REST API’s and distributed applications. Strong understanding of RESTful API design, development, security, and integration. Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and cloud-native application development. Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka for event-driven and asynchronous processing. Experience working with Google Cloud Bigtable or similar NoSQL databases. Solid understanding of Cloud Architecture principles, including scalability, resiliency, high availability, and fault tolerance. Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Proficiency with Git, Maven, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar development tools. Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and automated quality practices. Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning skills. Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments. Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automated testing, deployment automation, and monitoring. Proficiency with version control systems such as Git and Agile software development methodologies.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of cloud security, authentication, authorization, and API gateway technologies. Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Familiarity with observability tools, including logging, monitoring, and distributed tracing solutions. Highly motivated with strong organizational, analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities and effectively prioritize them.
