About this role
About Base Base is America’s next-generation power company. We’re rebuilding the foundation of modern civilization–electricity–by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries that is transforming today’s fragile, centralized grid into a resilient and abundant system. We are engineers, operators, and creatives solving some of the most complex, interdisciplinary challenges of our time.
About the Role
Base Power Company is seeking a data-driven Deployment Quality Lead to own, elevate, and optimize the quality of our installations. In this role, you will lead the Deployment Quality team and serve as the connective tissue between field operations, deployment engineering, and our installation partners. We are looking for a process-driven engineer who is ready to take the next step in their career. You do not need years of formal management experience under your belt, but you must bring an analytical engineering mindset, a passion for operational rigor, and the ability to own solutions end-to-end. You will track real-time field performance using data visualization and analytics tools, partner cross-functionally with Deployment Engineers to develop training, and fully own training implementation across both in-house crews and contracted labor. If you are committed to moving the needle, building systematic controls, and driving a fully optimized deployment engine at scale, this role is for you. What You’ll Do Team Leadership & Operations: Step up to lead, mentor, and scale the Deployment Quality team (including Deployment Quality Specialists) managing post-install closeout reviews, rework workflows, and partner accountability. Data & Performance Analytics: Build and maintain real-time quality and field performance dashboards using data visualization and analytics tools to track defect trends, partner SLAs, and rework rates. Cross-Functional Training Development: Work directly with Deployment Engineers to translate field defects, process bottlenecks, and engineering updates into high-impact training materials and standardized operating procedures. Training Implementation & Ownership: Fully own the delivery, tracking, and rollout of training programs for both in-house installation teams and third-party contractors. Hands-on Field Calibration: Maintain continuous line-of-sight into field execution through remote audits, root cause analysis (RCA), and close collaboration with field supervisors and contractors. Continuous Process Optimization: Identify recurring failure modes, map root causes, and implement preventive measures to systematically drive down rework rates and speed up project closeouts. Quality Framework Ownership: Continually refine standard operating procedures (SOPs), closeout requirements, scorecards, and QA/QC inspection frameworks for all installations. What You’ll Bring Engineering Background: 2 to 4+ years of engineering experience (Industrial, Systems, Mechanical, Quality, Operations, or related field) with a strong desire to take on ownership and leadership responsibilities. Process-Driven Mindset: Strong systems thinker who naturally analyzes workflows, identifies failure modes, and builds systematic controls to solve root causes. Data & Analytics Proficiency: Strong ability to leverage data analytics and dashboarding tools to analyze operational trends, track metrics, and drive decisions. Emerging Leadership Potential: High agency, strong ownership traits, and the ability to mentor team members, influence cross-functional peers, and drive accountability with external vendors. Training & Enablement: Ability to translate complex engineering or process requirements into simple, actionable training modules for field teams and third-party contractors. Problem-Solving Skills: Structured approach to root cause analysis (such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA, or Lean concepts) to fix operational issues at the source. Communication: Exceptional cross-functional communicator who can push for accountability while
