We are seeking an experienced Resident Engineer for building supervision to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will serve as the on-site representative responsible for overseeing construction activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to make decisive decisions in a fast-paced construction environment. Conduct daily site inspections to monitor construction progress, quality of workmanship, and adherence to approved plans and specifications Verify that all construction activities comply with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and project requirements Review and approve construction materials, equipment, and installation methods before implementation Maintain comprehensive site documentation, including daily reports, inspection records, photographs, and correspondence Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, architects, and engineers to resolve technical issues and ensure seamless project execution Identify and document any deviations from design specifications and recommend corrective actions Monitor Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) compliance and report any incidents or hazards Prepare progress reports and communicate project status to project management and stakeholders Manage site logistics, including material storage, equipment placement, and traffic flow Conduct quality assurance testing and inspections on structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems Maintain accurate records of site activities, changes, and approvals for project archives Collaborate with the project team to develop and implement solutions for construction challenges Qualifications Minimum of 15 years post-undergraduate experience plus 5 years in a senior technical position. Bachelor Degree in relevant Engineering field (i.e. Civil, Structural etc) and PMP preferable, plus membership of a recognized professional institution preferred Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and industry standards Proficiency in interpreting architectural and engineering drawings and specifications Demonstrated expertise in quality control and quality assurance processes Solid understanding of structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems Experience with construction management software and digital documentation tools Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
