Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) RN Full-Time | 1.0 FTE | Day Shift | Call Required We are seeking a fun-spirited, energetic Registered Nurse to join our highly specialized Cardiovascular Operating Room team caring for patients undergoing complex heart, thoracic, and vascular procedures. Our CVOR nurses work 10-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM , with a call rotation of approximately 2–3 nights per pay period and every 5th weekend .

About the Role

Our CVOR nurses play an essential role throughout the perioperative experience. Responsibilities include: Preparing the operating room and ensuring equipment and supplies are ready for each case Preparing patients for surgery, including verifying consents and addressing patient questions Assisting anesthesia with line placement and other procedures Positioning and preparing patients for surgery Maintaining patient safety throughout the perioperative process Supporting the sterile team and ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available during procedures Collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other members of the cardiovascular team This is a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding environment where every day brings new opportunities to make a difference in patients' lives. Our Procedures Our team performs a broad range of complex cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular procedures, including: Cardiac Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) Heart valve replacements Aortic root replacements Aortic aneurysm repairs Ventricular assist device (VAD) insertions Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) procedures Impella placements Thoracic Video-assisted and open thoracic procedures Lung lobectomies Decortications Thoracic biopsies Vascular Upper and lower extremity vascular bypass procedures AV fistula creation and revisions Carotid endarterectomies Our Environment Our four OR suites are currently undergoing renovation , with new surgical lights, booms, and monitoring systems being installed to support our patients and surgical teams. This role is responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality care based on established clinical protocols and physician/provider orders. The RN collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care and desired outcomes, while maintaining a supportive and compassionate environment for patients and their families. Essential Functions Coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with organizational policies, protocols, and the nursing process. Conducts thorough patient assessments and documents findings accurately, reporting changes in condition to the appropriate care team members. Utilizes knowledge of human growth and development to provide age-appropriate care and education. Administers prescribed medications, monitors for side effects, and documents administration in accordance with standards of practice. Assists physicians during procedures within the scope of documented competency and skill level. Collaborates with the healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans based on patient assessments and needs. Responds to medical emergencies and participates in life-saving interventions, such as CPR and code team activities, as appropriate. Advocates for the rights and needs of patients, ensuring their voices are heard and respected in care planning and delivery. Provides patient and family education on medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care, ensuring understanding and adherence
