The Equipment, Automation, and Process Engineering teams at Seagate Singapore (W1) rely on skilled Technicians to ensure smooth 24/7 manufacturing operations for HDD backend processes. Technicians play a critical frontline role in equipment upkeep, process stability, and production support. About the role - you will:
Perform routine equipment checks, setup, startup, and shutdown in accordance with standard operating procedures. Conduct first‑level troubleshooting for mechanical, electrical, automation, or process issues. Execute preventive maintenance (PM), calibration tasks, and equipment health checks. Escalate issues to engineers with clear documentation of symptoms, findings, and attempted corrective actions. Support engineering trials, qualification builds, and process/equipment change implementations. Maintain accurate logs for downtime, PM completion, parts replacement, and troubleshooting activities. Ensure adherence to safety protocols including LOTO, chemical handling, PPE usage, and workplace housekeeping. Assist in operator training on basic equipment operation and safety practices. Work with cross‑functional teams to drive equipment stability, yield improvement, and scrap reduction. About you:
Hands‑on, mechanically inclined, and proactive in issue identification. Strong sense of ownership, discipline, and safety awareness. Able to follow structured procedures and communicate clearly with engineers. Comfortable working in a high‑volume manufacturing environment. Willing to work in rotating shifts when required. Your experience includes:
NITEC/Higher NITEC/Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation, or related fields. Basic knowledge of industrial automation systems, robotics, pneumatics, or electrical troubleshooting. Experience in manufacturing operations, equipment support, or technical maintenance.
You might also have
Exposure to SPC systems, MES interfaces, or digital manufacturing tools. Experience with HDD, semiconductor, or electronics assembly environments. Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, TPM, or continuous improvement activities. Location:
