A Day in The Life Of: As a Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, verification, and maintenance of software for medical device products. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions while providing technical leadership, mentoring, and support for continuous improvement initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
Design, develop, and verify software for medical device products in compliance with applicable software development standards, including IEC 62304. Collaborate with product, systems, test, and architecture teams to define technical solutions and deliver project objectives. Lead software development activities, including effort estimation, planning, and technical execution across project phases. Conduct technical reviews of requirements, architecture, design documentation, source code, and other engineering deliverables. Mentor and support software engineers through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and software engineering best practices. Develop and maintain software using modern programming languages, frameworks, and development tools. Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance software quality, development efficiency, and team effectiveness. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of compliant, high-quality software products. Utilise AI-assisted tools to accelerate implementation, code review, and debugging; holding AI-generated contributions to the same quality and safety bar as hand-authored code Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree (Level 8) in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline and a minimum of 4 years of relevant software engineering experience; or an advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant software engineering experience. Experience developing software using established software development lifecycle processes. Experience with Agile software development methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD). Proficiency in at least two of the following technologies: XML, C++, Java,
