Come join the team that is working quietly to keep the light of liberty shining!As a Structural, Stress, Mechanisms and Thermal Engineering Associate Manager, you will: • Manage a team of 10-15 engineers by providing oversight, technical mentoring, career development, training, and performance reviews • Work collaboratively with the programs your team supports and with functional leadership to manage staffing requirements and plan job assignments to sustain engineering capabilities and critical skills • Represent the organization in design reviews and external interactions, practicing Full Spectrum Leadership behaviors • Oversee technical product management for program life cycles, facilitating strategic initiatives for affordability and efficiency across the programs your team supports • Independently perform detailed structural analysis of spacecraft components and systems to ensure program requirements and schedules are met Manages the research, planning, design and development of mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Directs application of research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines. Basic Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or related technical field) or equivalent experience/combined education • Prior experience as a technical lead or manager • Fundamental understanding of structural analysis methods and processes (e.g., load paths, modes, modal coupling, mechanical joints, stress/strain, fatigue/fracture, buckling, classical hand calculations)• Proficient with finite element numerical solution tools (e.g., NX & NX Nastran) • Active Top Secret or SCI Security Clearance required prior to start Desired Skills Demonstrated Full Spectrum Leadership competencies, including: communicating with positive impact, developing enduring relationships, making effective decisions, delivering value, building organizational talent, and being accountable Proficient with engineering level computer programming tools (e.g., Matlab) Experience with analysis and test of structural environments (e.g., static, acoustics, random
