Japan Events Lead

Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

We are looking to hire a Senior Manager for Events in Japan who will spearhead a team that is responsible for the development and delivery of world class innovative events from in-person to virtual and everything in between. From external-facing events to internal employee-facing events; you should be able to blend strategic thinking with execution at scale. You should not be afraid to push the envelope and bring new ideas to the table, as well as experiment with the latest tools and technologies to elevate our events into unique-to-Netflix experiences. You will have amazing attention to detail, the ability to see the big picture and clearly articulate your vision to internal and external stakeholders, as well as the ability to partner seamlessly, and execute flawlessly across APAC for local and global titles.

Reporting to the Director of Events for APAC, the role combines project management with strategic thinking, execution and the smart use of resources for maximum impact. You will need to have strong cross-functional relationships to create, shape, execute and manage events for Netflix content. The successful candidate will be curious about campaign promotional efforts - paying attention to creativity, concept, quality, and time constraints - and will seek to add value and improve campaigns with new and innovative event ideas.

You will be able to fulfill the roles and responsibilities of a senior leader, including helping your team navigate ambiguity by providing high-level context while enabling team members to make sound judgment calls. You will look to provide impact through scale but also be able to provide support on event executions.

* Oversee the Japan event strategy for the short and long term, in line with business needs

* Function as a strategic thought partner within Events & Screenings to Publicity, Photo & AV Studio, Awards, Comms, Marketing and Content

* Lead cross-functional as well as cross-regional debate and collaboration

* Foster cross-functional partnerships and take strategic approaches to achieve high impact events and campaign goals

* Lead ongoing roles & responsibilities discussions, grow, nurture and develop the group and manage expectations setting and discussions for their team

* Provide mentorship to less tenured team members across the Events & Screenings team to support their work and ideation

* Forecast budgets based on title prioritization and oversee team budget

* Oversee title staffing and day to day team management

* Creative conceptualization, crafting of creative proposals and quotations

* Resourceful strategic thinker and creative problem solver

* Produce creative and well-executed experiences that are consumer-centric and unique to Netflix

* Adaptable to hybrid or virtual events, with knowledge of what it takes online and off, including the latest tools, platforms and technologies to bring our vision to life
