Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Senior Principal Chief Engineer – Level 4 to join our team in Promontory , UT. The Mission Assurance Chief Engineer (MACE) is responsible for all Safety and Mission Assurance compliance on their assigned Programs. The MACE is accountable to ensure that Safety and Mission Assurance (S&MA) needs are implemented through our systems and will engage across S&MA organizations and into other organizations to assure quality and safety contract requirements are met on time and within budget. This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off. In this job, you will: Ensuring resources across S&MA are provided when and where needed to support Program success. Lead efforts to develop, communicate and implement the S&MA vision, strategy, goals and metrics to help meet business and program objectives. Daily interface with program leadership, Engineering, Safety and Quality organizations is required. Regular customer interface is required to assure all customer requirements are being met. Other duties as assigned    Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 6 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 4 years of professional experience.    Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance Prior Aerospace experience working with rocket motor design, manufacturing and/or quality. Strong working knowledge of Quality and Safety policies, procedures and processes. Ability to craft solutions to meet program unique requirements while maintaining compliance to AS9100. Must have proven experience in effectively prioritizing competing and demanding priorities to satisfy S&MA requirements. Strong organization, planning, execution and budget management skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and with customers   Preferred Qualifications:    Advanced engineering degree Previous quality engineering experience Working knowledge of the MRB processes Ability to get things done through formal and informal channels.
