Micron is looking for a Director, Global SOX to lead the company’s global SOX compliance program and controls related to financial reporting. Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, this role will lead the continuous growth, application, and refinement of Micron’s SOX program within Finance, IT, and international business sectors. This position functions as a dependable advisor to executive leadership, PwC, Risk Advisory Services, Finance, IT, and business control owners. The Director is responsible for boosting SOX governance, ensuring control consistency, identifying new risks, and endorsing workable solutions that simplify procedures, increase automation, and optimize how teams operate as Micron’s business, systems, and finance processes develop. The ideal candidate possesses significant SOX and internal controls' experience, strong executive communication talents, established program leadership, and the capacity to affect teams worldwide. This role is appropriate for a collaborative leader who enjoys designing scalable workflows, nurturing talent, and promoting continuous progress.
Responsibilities
Direct the worldwide Finance and IT SOX Compliance Program, encompassing planning, risk evaluation, prioritization, implementation, reporting, and remediation supervision. Supervise the development and functional performance of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), making sure risks are detected, analyzed, and handled. Collaborate with Finance, IT, business process owners, Risk Advisory Services, and external auditors to support effective control design, testing, monitoring, and remediation. Prepare and present SOX compliance updates, risk assessments, control deficiency analyses, and key governance materials to Executive Management and the Audit Committee. Lead the assessment and resolution of control deficiencies, including root cause analysis, remediation planning, and management action tracking. Drive consistency, scalability, and efficiency across global SOX processes, documentation, walkthroughs, controls testing, and audit support activities. Find opportunities to use AI, automation, and advanced analytics in Finance processes. Develop cases and work with team members to implement solutions that improve efficiency, data quality, and decision-making. Lead and develop a high-performing global SOX team while strengthening skills in compliance, internal controls, audit readiness, process improvement, automation, and cross-departmental collaboration.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related field. 15+ years of dynamic experience in SOX compliance, internal controls, external audit, internal audit, accounting, finance, or a related field. 5+ years of leadership experience developing teams, programs, or cross-functional initiatives. Strong knowledge of SOX Section 404, ICFR, COSO framework, control design, operating effectiveness, and financial reporting risks. Experience handling SOX or internal controls programs within a large, complex, publicly traded global organization. Ability to influence senior partners and resolve complex audit or control issues.
Preferred Qualifications
CPA, CIA, CISA, or equivalent professional certification. Experience in semiconductor, technology, manufacturing, or another complex multinational environment. Experience with ERP implementations, finance transformation, global process redesign, or significant system and control changes. Consistent record of improving processes, simplifying controls, increasing automation, improving audit efficiency, and building scalable governance
