About this role
Become a part of our caring community The Senior Counsel provides a full range of legal advice and services. The Senior Counsel works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial. The Senior Counsel typically a Legal generalist or provides counsel in a combination of disciplines. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action. This position will focus on supporting Humana’s senior-focused primary care operations and merger & acquisition activity. Provide guidance related to the application of fraud, waste, and abuse laws, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, the Stark Law, and the Beneficiary Inducement Statute as applied to CenterWell Primary Care delivery and operations. Assist with health care regulatory diligence for potential merger & acquisition activity as well as coordinate and address legal issues during post-closing integration. Collaborate and consult with leaders throughout the company in order to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and protection against external risk. Use your skills to make an impact Required Qualifications Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited school law school 5 - 10 years of relevant experience Active membership in a state bar association Strong legal writing and analytical skills Ability to work independently under general supervision and in team settings Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences Experience in Medicare, Medicaid, or similar regulatory work Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated knowledge of Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage Demonstrated knowledge of health care provider operations Merger & acquisition experience Familiarity with Medicare risk adjustment as well as related billing and coding requirements.

Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Pay Range The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc. $168,000 - $231,000 per year This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan.
