Your role Key responsibilities in your new role As a Senior Staff Application Engineer – Automotive Microcontrollers / Key Customer Enablement (f/m/div) , you will become part of a newly established distributed Application Engineering team supporting selected key customers worldwide during critical phases of their automotive microcontroller projects. Your mission is to help technically demanding customers achieve their development goals with Infineon's leading automotive microcontrollers — from a successful project start, through decisive customer milestones, to escalations where trust, technical clarity, and hands-on debugging make the difference. You will work directly with automotive Tier 1 and OEM customers, both remotely and on-site, to remove technical roadblocks, prove complex application concepts, solve performance bottlenecks, and prove why our application solution is technically superior. You are not expected to know every detail of our complex microcontrollers from day one. What matters is your ability to take technical ownership, communicate confidently with expert customers, build strong relationships, activate the right internal experts, and continuously grow your own knowledge. Act as a trusted technical entry point for selected worldwide key customers , representing Infineon confidently in technically demanding discussions Support customers in early project phases , at decisive project milestones , and during escalations to help them achieve their development goals with Infineon's latest automotive microcontrollers Work hands-on with customers remotely and on-site to debug complex technical issues , remove performance bottlenecks , and drive technical proof-of-concepts Use your application know-how and embedded systems understanding to prove why our application solution is technically superior in real customer use cases Build and maintain a strong internal Infineon network to quickly connect customer questions with the right experts in A pplication Engineering , R&D , product , and system teams Create clarity in ambiguous technical situations by asking the right questions, structuring findings, and driving the next steps together with customers and internal stakeholders Share knowledge within the distributed Application Engineering team and contribute to a supportive team culture based on curiosity, ownership, and mutual help Train and enable Field Application Engineers and customers in your area of technical expertise Your profile Qualifications and skills to help you succeed As a proactive and hands-on engineer, you enjoy working close to customers where technical challenges are complex, information is sometimes incomplete, and solutions need to be created step by step. You are curious, confident, and structured in the way you approach new topics. You keep a clear head under customer pressure, act with urgency when project timelines are critical, and remain focused on structuring problems, aligning stakeholders, and driving progress. You do not need to know everything yourself, but you know how to ask precise questions, build trust, involve the right experts, and take ownership until progress is achieved. With your communication skills and your ability to build relationships, you can represent Infineon professionally towards demanding automotive customers while continuously expanding your own technical knowledge.
