About this role
The Director, Software Engineering - Quest Reporting Engine is a visionary, results-oriented technology leader responsible for steering the architecture, development, validation, and enterprise-wide deployment of QRE. QRE is a mission-critical, high-throughput enterprise capability positioned at the center of Quest’s diagnostic ecosystem, orchestrating real-time patient data streams across core laboratory information systems (LIS), middleware, Epic Beaker, client EHRs, and downstream result delivery channels. The successful candidate will establish the architecture, validation framework, performance standards, and migration strategy necessary to safely transition enterprise reporting workloads to QRE, with measurable accountability for result accuracy, functional parity, scalability, resiliency, and implementation readiness. Partnering across Nova, laboratory operations, client migration, interface engineering, EHR/vendor teams, and technology organizations, the Director ensures QRE maintains functional parity with current reporting capabilities while enabling scalable modernization with minimal disruption to clients and laboratory operations. This leader will guide a high-performing organization to build a modernized, next-generation reporting platform while preserving critical legacy capabilities and behaviors, prioritizing absolute patient safety, result accuracy, and operational continuity throughout the transition. This is a hybrid role and the selected candidate must be onsite in Secaucus, NJ. Pay Range: $180,000-$220,000/year + 20% Annual Incentive Plan. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
