About the opportunity We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of banking applications and system interfaces across complex transformation programmes. The role will manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, dependencies, vendors and delivery governance, while providing subject-matter expertise in application integration and interface design. The successful candidate will coordinate business, operations, architecture, application, infrastructure, testing and vendor teams to deliver secure, resilient and scalable solutions connecting core banking, payments, treasury, lending, trade finance, digital, data and regulatory platforms. Your key responsibilities
Manage application and interface delivery from requirements and solution design through development, testing, cutover, deployment, hypercare and transition to BAU support. Develop and maintain integrated project plans covering scope, schedule, resources, budget, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues and defects. Lead requirements and design workshops with business, operations, technology, architecture and vendor stakeholders. Oversee the design and delivery of APIs, real-time and event-driven integrations, message-based interfaces, batch and file-based interfaces, and data feeds. Govern interface specifications, data mappings, transformation rules, message formats, reconciliation controls and integration documentation. Coordinate delivery across upstream and downstream applications, internal teams, system integrators and third-party service providers. Lead SIT, end-to-end testing, UAT, performance testing and operational-readiness activities, including defect triage and resolution. Manage implementation, release and cutover activities, ensuring monitoring, alerting, support procedures and production verification are in place. Provide clear reporting on delivery status, decisions, risks, issues and mitigation actions to programme governance forums and senior stakeholders.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of banking technology delivery experience, including at least 5 years managing application integration or interface delivery within large transformation programmes. Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and vendors across the full project delivery lifecycle. Hands-on experience gathering requirements and designing, developing, testing and deploying banking application interfaces. Strong knowledge of application architecture, APIs, middleware, messaging, event-driven integration, data mapping, transformation and reconciliation controls. Experience with core banking, payments, treasury, lending, trade finance, digital banking, data or regulatory-reporting platforms. Strong understanding of banking operations, including transaction processing, settlement, reconciliation, accounting, regulatory reporting and end-of-day processing. Experience in core banking modernisation, cloud integration, API-led architecture or multi-country implementation would be advantageous. Relevant project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2 or Agile certification is preferred. The certification preference is an additional hiring recommendation rather than a requirement taken from the source document.
