Full Stack (Angular-Java) - Director - Software Engineering Profile Description We're seeking someone to join our FORT (Risk Technology) team as a Full Stack (Angular-Java). This role is required to support the FS analytics platform, which is a direct source of revenue for the firm through client usage fees. As external vendors such as Light Keeper and MIK continue to offer competing analytics solutions, maintaining sufficient technology capacity and the right skill set is critical to supporting client demand, growing the business, and preserving our competitive position. Backfilling this role is necessary to sustain platform delivery and support continued business expansion. This is Director position that develops and maintains software solutions that support business needs.    What you'll do in the role: • Strong Full Stack Java development experience in designing, developing, and testing end-to-end, multi-tier web applications, including modern user interfaces, REST APIs, data models, and data management. • Expertise in microservices and modern, scalable application architecture, or a willingness to learn and implement microservices. • Experience designing APIs for data exchange and working with formats such as JSON, flat files, Parquet, Avro, and ORC. • Knowledge of metadata- or configuration-driven solutions and relational databases, including table partitioning, data distribution, parallel loads, and extracts using DB2, Greenplum, or similar technologies. • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and verbal and written business communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision, contribute to the team knowledge base, and provide rotational post-production support. What you'll bring to the role: • Strong Java programming experience, along with front-end design and development skills using Angular, JavaScript, CSS, and related technologies. • Strong DBMS expertise, including schema design, complex procedures and data scripts, SQL query authoring, data analysis, and performance optimisation. • Sound knowledge of the software development and system implementation life cycles, with experience developing, testing, and supporting multi-tier architectures. • Strong problem-solving, project management, and organisational skills, with proficiency in Unix/Linux, shell scripting, and Excel. • Good-to-have experience with microservices, Scala, Spark, Hadoop, and MongoDB, with Python knowledge considered an added advantage. • At least 8 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role,   WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY: At Morgan Stanley, we raise, manage and allocate capital for our clients – helping them reach their goals.
