Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain database solutions using Oracle and Sybase. Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, PL/SQL packages, functions, and triggers. Write performance-optimized PL/SQL code using Collections, Pipelined Functions, GTTs, and other advanced features. Monitor, analyze, and improve database performance through query tuning and optimization. Review and analyze Explain Plans and other performance diagnostic tools. Design and maintain logical and physical data models. Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security across databases. Develop and support ETL processes and data integration solutions. Collaborate with application developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders. Participate in code reviews and promote database development best practices. Support production deployments and troubleshoot database-related issues. Qualifications / Experience 10+ years of experience in database development. Strong hands-on experience with Oracle and Sybase databases. Experience supporting enterprise-scale applications and databases. Technical Skills Strong expertise in SQL and PL/SQL development. Strong experience writing and optimizing complex SQL queries in Oracle. Hands-on experience with Oracle SQL Developer and other database development tools. Strong knowledge of: Query Performance Tuning Explain Plan and performance analysis tools Indexes and Index Access Methods Index Organized Tables (IOT) Partitioning Joins and Query Optimization Stored Procedures, Functions, Packages, and Triggers Basic understanding of Data Modeling concepts. Experience with ETL processes and data integration tools is preferred. Exposure to MongoDB or other NoSQL databases is an advantage. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, TeamCity, UDeploy, and SonarQube. Familiarity with Design Patterns, Code Reviews, Coding Standards, and Unit Testing. Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables. Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality. Ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities and deadlines.
