What We Are Looking For
The Construction Supervisor supports the safe, reliable, and efficient operations maintenance, and construction of natural gas, and NGL pipelines, pipeline blowdowns and tie-ins, installation, and construction of pipeline launchers and receivers, installation compression, treating and processing equipment, and all associated piping and equipment.
What You Will Do
Supervise and inspect pipeline construction and maintenance projects on behalf of operations. Communicate regularly with operations leadership for guidance and training. Liaise between project management and operations. Maintain accurate spreadsheets. Provide leadership to the operations team, contractors, and inspectors with respect to company policies, operations, and maintenance procedures. Accept full responsibility for overseeing assigned projects and contractors. Develop, execute, and supervise pipeline tie-in procedures in support of line maintenance and new construction tie-ins. Ensure project oversight, cost control, accounting, adherence to schedule and documentation during construction projects. Promptly anticipate and report variances from budget and schedule. Gain an understanding of natural gas and NGL pipelines, gathering systems, compressor station, and processing plant operations, and safe natural gas transportation. Coordinate with operations, project management, commercial, scheduling, control room, and contractors to schedule project shutdowns and tie-ins. Maintain a presence in the Williston Basin This position can only be done effectively in the field. Provide project estimating support for AFE preparation for construction and maintenance projects. Report on planned and ongoing projects and activities to Construction Manager. Notify Construction Manager about necessary corrections and develop timelines for corrections before approving and signing off on Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs). Be proactive in job safety for all personnel on site. Perform quality Job Safety Analyses/Job Hazard Analyses and help train and guide other employees. Ensure Record Turnover Packages are complete by reviewing weld and heat mapping, pressure test reports, etc. Verify welding, NDE and coating work conforms to company WPS’s and specifications. Maintain company vehicle and equipment. Obtain and maintain OQ verifications. Oversee and ensure QA/QC compliance and control in compliance with Kinder Morgan O&M’s, Construction Standards and all applicable, governing codes (I.E. 49 CFR 192/195) Perform all other job-related duties as requested or required. What You Need Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in construction management or five years of relevant experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Excellent analytical skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Strong listening skills. Ability to effectively communicate with personnel at all levels of the organization. Ability to generate, maintain and modify spreadsheets. Ability to understand and implement operations and maintenance procedures. Ability to generate detailed clear scope of work, bill of materials, project procedures, and communicate accurate written instructions and apply it in the field setting. Valid state operating license with a driving record insurable under Company insurance policy. Must have permanent residence in the Williston Basin. AWS Certified Welding Inspector (AWS-CWI) certification desirable. NACE/AMPP Coating Inspector Program (CIP) certification desirable. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desirable. API 1169 Pipeline Construction Inspector certification desirable. ASNT certifications are desirable.
