Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented attorney to provide products counseling support within Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS offers a wide range of IT products and services for cloud customers, including on-demand compute, storage, database, messaging, and other software-as-service products. The successful candidate must be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. Lawyers at Amazon are trusted members of the business. Our work is intellectually challenging, exciting, and fast-paced. Developing innovative solutions to novel legal questions is part of our daily business. Key job responsibilities In this role, you will serve as an attorney supporting Amazon’s internal developer experience organization and the AWS developer tools organization. This role sits at the intersection of AI innovation, software development tooling, and cloud security products. You will advise on the legal and compliance framework for AI-assisted coding tools, counsel teams on data governance, advise on IP and open-source strategy, and provide legal guidance on security-related product incidents. A day in the life In a typical day of a Corporate Counsel in AWS Products Legal, you may conduct meetings with several of your client teams to discuss developer offerings, provide advice on draft contracts to a business lead, develop a strategy document for a novel legal issue impacting AWS, and attend a meeting with business leaders to review an important project.
