Together, we’re improving health and improving lives. Labcorp is seeking a Lab Receiving Specialist to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm . Required overtime based on business needs.
Job Responsibilities
Deliver specimens to designated areas and department. Unload specimen containers/trays. Receive and process specimens, trays, containers in SIS system. Work overdue SIS Tracker/Dashboard to make sure all containers have been received. Work paperwork/manifest in real-time to make sure all containers, trays, and specimens have been received. Receive Fed Ex & UPS as priority or other flagged specified priority specimens in an urgent manner. Resolve all customer concerns efficiently and timely Respond and send emails concerning issues with missing specimens, containers not sent on PHX server, and other issues. Work Matrix biomedical sorting machines by loading and unloading received specimens into designated bins. Data entry in a few applications as well as Microsoft Outlook.
Minimum Qualification
High School Diploma or GED equivalent One year or more of experience in a healthcare, diagnostic lab, physician office, clinic, hospital, or diagnostic lab support environment Preferred Qualification: Current or prior Labcorp experience Associates degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Technology, Healthcare, or a related science field One year or more of experience with specimen processing, specimen receiving, medical lab terminology One year or more of healthcare experience in a high-volume, detail-driven receiving, inventory, shipping/receiving, warehouse, logistics, or operations environment Additional Job Standards: Knowledge of workflow Advanced computer knowledge and data entry skills Strong verbal and written communication skills High level of attention to detail Able to pass a standardized color blindness test Able to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, and move throughout the laboratory for extended periods during the shift. Ability to use multiple computer systems, dashboards, tracking tools, and Microsoft Outlook to document, receive, monitor, and communicate specimen status.
