L3Harris is seeking a dynamic Project Engineer leader for a range of software and hardware development, assembly, and integration and test efforts. The candidate will be part of a larger program team as a leader dedicated to meeting the customer’s technical, cost and schedule needs. Program support and technical leadership over requirements definition, concept generation, material selection, trade studies, preliminary and final design documentation. Reviews status of engineering projects and budgets, manage schedules, and prepares status reports. Identifies, tracks, mitigates, manages, and dispositions program-level risks and opportunities. Estimate resource and material needs for the project/product. Provides the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received. Must have ability and willingness to work in a collaborative team environment on quick reaction projects. Essential Functions: • Responsible for successfully leading the execution of Space System project teams to meet customer requirements within allocated cost and schedule • Develops, oversees, and coordinates the cost/schedule/technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer. • Reviews status of engineering projects and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports • Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) or equivalent fiscal responsibility • Assesses engineering issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives • Identifies, tracks, mitigates, manages, and dispositions program-level risks and opportunities. • Estimate resource and material needs for the project/product • Coordinates interdependencies within specific projects and with the greater Space Enterprise • Provides the coordination between project teams and resource managers/supervisors to ensure all necessary reviews and approvals are received • Participate in small teams and perform a wide variety of tasks • Must have ability and willingness to work in a collaborative team environment on quick reaction tasks/projects and will have regular contact with customers • Works closely with the product manager to identify project risk and with the Chief System Engineer to ensure risk management mitigation strategies and events are being planned executed correctly • Understands how to use Earned Value (EV) to guide the success of a project • Able to support proposals for new work in a growing business Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. •
