Job Title Entry-level Manufacturing Engineer (Latham, NY) Job Description As an entry‑level engineer, the position works under the guidance of other engineers and receives structured training to develop technical competence, engineering judgment, and familiarity with Philips procedures and regulatory requirements.
Your role
Be part of a Manufacturing Engineering organization of approximately 35 professionals, including Engineers, IT Specialists, Drafters, and Technicians, supporting site manufacturing operations . This role contributes to cross-functional execution and technical alignment across multiple disciplines. Provide hands-on technical support to manufacturing by maintaining process documentation and ensuring compliance with quality, safety, regulatory, environmental, and legal requirements. This includes adherence to company General Business Principles and applicable internal policies. Initiate, facilitate, and sustain continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen events and structured problem-solving within the assigned area of expertise. The role drives measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Support the installation, startup, and ramp-up of new equipment and manufacturing processes, ensuring smooth transition to full production. Responsibilities include coordinating with stakeholders while maintaining required quality and safety standards. This position is fully on-site to effectively support manufacturing operations, with limited travel required for supplier visits or conferences. Expected travel is less than 5%, offering strong on-site engagement and development opportunities. You're the right fit if: No prior experience required with bachelor's degree OR minimum 4 years of experience with Vocational Education in areas such as Manufacturing/Operations environment, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Production Engineering, or Cost Engineering or equivalent. Your skills include working knowledge of common electrical test equipment (e.g., multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes) and exposure to automation, electro-mechanical assemblies, fabricated and welded assemblies, or high-vacuum and cryogenic processes ; Lean Six Sigma principles; Understanding of regulatory, safety, and quality requirements in a manufacturing environment. You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position . You are an effective communicator with consolidated organizational skills, as well as proven ability to contribute to project execution in a team environment. Philips Transparency Details The pay range for this position in Latham, NY is $70,000 to $111,000 The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
