THE WORK Lockheed Martin's Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) Infrastructure team is seeking a level 2 Hardware Engineer with an active Secret clearance to work from our Boulder, CO, location . SBIRS and the Next‑Gen GEO OPIR ground stations form the backbone of the United States’ missile‑warning architecture In this role you will work closely with software, security, and mission engineers to deliver ultra‑reliable, and scalable ground‑systems that enable continuous infrared surveillance and missile‑warning capabilities for legacy and next‑gen satellite constellations. Standard Job Description Conducts or participates in the research, design, development, and testing of COTS or custom computing hardware and/or otherelectrical components. Develops designs for the installation of components and assembliesinto chassis, racks, cabinets,workstations, customer facilities, and/or shelters. Plans, directs, reviews and coordinates preparation of project documentation to ensure customer contract and company requirements are met. Prepares specifications, evaluates vendors, and analyzes test reports. Basic Qualifications Previous Hardware Engineering experience in mechanical/electrical design Knowledgeable in Hardware Engineering processes and tools. Active Secret Security Clearance required for consideration. Ability to obtain/maintain SCI also required. Desired Skills Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Hardware Engineer). Experienced with Microsoft Project, Jira, or Confluence Experience with operational ground systems Be a team player and work in a collaborative team environment Desire to work in a fast paced, mission-focused environment Highly responsible, team-oriented individual with a strong work ethic Effective organizational skills with strong attention to detail Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues quickly Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $79300.00 - $147300.00 At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
