Introduction to team The Lodging connectivity Organization at Expedia Group is seeking an experienced backend developer and a seasoned technologist with a passion for building robust, scalable, and high-performance applications that help millions of people plan their travels and create lifelong memories. In this role, you will: Design, build, and evolve scalable, reliable services and software components, including system design, low-level design, API design, and data modeling to support customer-facing and platform experiences. Lead the technical design across domains and delivery of complex, multi-quarter initiatives across the 3PI supply system that support shopping, booking, servicing, and claims journeys. Take end-to-end ownership of complex features or services, from technical design through implementation, deployment, monitoring, and iterative improvement in production. Break down large, ambiguous business problems into clear technical solutions that can be reused across multiple domains and services, driving streamlined execution by the team. Write, review, and maintain high-quality, well-tested code while driving best practices in code quality, security, observability, resilience, and performance. Improve technical quality and operational excellence by reducing incidents, enhancing observability, and optimizing performance, reliability, and cost. Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions that improve traveler and business outcomes, applying AI-driven systems, tools, and workflows to production-grade software. Mentor and guide other engineers, sharing best practices in software engineering, testing, and architecture, and raising the overall engineering bar for the team. Partner with product, analytics, design, and engineering teams to apply data-driven decision making, define success metrics, and improve system health and user outcomes over time.
